 Flora Pearl Holden was born on 19 Dec 1879 in North Fairfield, OH. She died on 5 Dec 1964 at the age of 84 in Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital, Norwalk, Ohio. She was buried Edwards Grove Cemetery Ripley Township. She died Pneumonia. She was 19 years old when Hazel was born. She lived in Hartland Twp. Huron County Ohio. She attended the Methodist Church. She was always helpful to neighbors and others. She was a Housewife. She was pleasant and great at gardening and crafts. She is part of the Holden / Bliss Family and eligible for the DAR. Flora was described as 5'2" and 115 lbs. Flora's family was well established in the North Fairfield, Ohio area. Her ancestors had emigrated to the American colonies from England during the 1630s and consisted mainly of Puritan stock. Shortly after her marriage to Frank Marett, they moved to Lorain, Ohio where Frank found work in the steel mills so he could earn enough money to farm. After two years in the steel mills and as a guide at the shipyards, Frank hurt his hand on a train track. His Hungar ian co-worker could not understand the English language well enough to understand a warning, thus the accident happened as Frank tried to push him away from danger, Frank's hand was caught between the train cars. Frank and Flora moved back to be nearer her family and rented 350 acres with Flora's brother Orville. The farm near Greenwich was called the Washburn Place. Flora crocheted beautifully and was always making doilies and other crocheted crafts. She made a poodle cover for a bottle of bath oil. She lived in later years (after Frank's death) with her daughter, Irene. December 19, 1954: "It's Her Birthday" (news clipping) Sunday marked the 75th birthday of Mrs. Flora Marett. Twenty-nine members of her family gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thor Chandler to surprise her with a family dinner. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Holden, and Betty of New London, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl, Roberta, Irene, and Robert Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Roderic Righter and daughter, Mrs. and Mrs. Dale Ebinger and children, all of North Fairfield, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Smith and boys of Steuben, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Chandler of Shelby, Mrs. and Mrs. Lawrence Schreck and sons of Galion and Jerry Chandler. The day ended on a happy note when Pfc. Robert Gray arrived on leave from Texas.

Sarah Evaline Bliss and Wilbur Orville Holden were married on 30 Aug 1876. 7. Sarah Evaline Bliss was born on 5 Nov 1854 in Fredonia, New York. She died on 18 Aug 1892 at the age of 37 in North Fairfield, Ohio. Wilbur Orville Holden and Sarah Evaline Bliss had the following child: 3 i. Flora Pearl Holden, born 19 Dec 1879, North Fairfield, OH; died 5 Dec 1964 

Elizabeth Ann Parker was born on 8 Mar 1864 in Monroeville, OH. She died on 12 Oct 1940 at the age of 76 in North Fairfield, OH. She was buried in Olena Cemetery, OH.. Died aged 76 years 7 months at home of son Robert Clark Earl. She was sometimes called Lizzie. Was a teacher at age 16. Listed in 1900 Census with husband John Alfred Earl, living in Ridgefield Twp, Huron County Ohio on June 16, 1900 with two children Robert Clark and Anna Elizabeth. She was 36 years old. At the 1920 Census, she was a widow and listed as Head of Household living in Norwalk Township, Huron County Ohio at 22 Park Ave. She was with all three children Robert 24, Anna 20 and Edna Grace 15. Obituary: Mrs. Elizabeth Earl who died at her home in Fairfield Township Oct. 12, 1940 was born Elizabeth Ann Parker. She was the eldest of the seven children of John Parker and Ann Clark Parker, both of whom were born in England. She was born March 8, 1864 on a farm near Monroeville. Besides her common school training she attended Normal School at Milan. She became a teacher at an early age and was an instructor in our Huron County schools for a number of years. On March 26, 1890 she was united in marriage to John Alfred Earl whose father and mother had also come from England to make their home in America. Her husband was a teacher by profession, and they made their home in several Ohio communities. At the time of his death August 1, 1911 when he was 45 years of age, he was Superintendent of the Schools in Holland, Ohio. Six children were born to them, three of whom died in infancy, Homer aged 1 1/2 years, Leon age 4 1/2 years, and a baby girl a month old. She was left a widow with three children, Robert, Anna and Edna. She returned to Huron County at that time, living in Norwalk for a number of years and since that time had made her home with her son Robert on his farm. A daughter, Edna lived to be nearly 17 years of age and had finished her first year at Oberlin College. Surviving her are her two children, Robert Earl of Fairfield Township, and Mrs. T. A. Martin of Sikeston, Missouri, formerly Anna Earl, and her seven grandchildren named in order of age, Edna Earl, Earl Martin, Elsie Earl, Alice Martin, Betty, Roberta, and Irene Earl. A sister Mrs. Mary Moffit, and two brothers, John and Harry Parker also survive. and she leaves many other friends to mourn her death. As a girl under the instruction of her mother and her mother's sister, she became an artist with the needle and all her life made the fullest use of this talent. As the eldest child, she assisted her parents with the care of the younger children and helped them in every way she could to establish the homestead in Fitchville Township to which they came in 1883. After her husband's death she continued the task of educating her children and establishing them in their homes. As a grandmother she devoted herself untiringly to giving each child a good start in life and was a wonderful mother-in-law. Like her mother, she was a lover of flowers and was particularly adept at raising them. She joined the church early in life and received comfort and aid from its teachings as long as she lived. She was a member of the River Road Farm Women's Club and the Fitchville Grange. In recent years she had spent part of her time in Sikeston, Missouri with her daughter and family and two years ago took a trip east to Vermont with them. Last summer her son-in-law came to take her and her son's three oldest girls for a month's visit in Missouri, bringing them home early in August. She became ill early in September and six weeks later died at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 4 days. She was a staunchly loyal friend and her spirit of helpfulness and the ability to see and encourage the good in others was characteristic of her whole life. In the very last years of her life when she was ministering to a brother in his last illness, she told a member of the family concerned about her, "All my life when I have needed strength the Lord has seen fit to give it to me." A noble Christian women, her memory will live on in the lives of her grandchildren. 

Third Generation 4. Robert Earl was born on 21 Jun 1832 in Norfolk, England. He died on 1 Feb 1907 at the age of 74 in North Fairfield, OH Buried Steuben Cemetery. He came to US with Blake family to Greenfield Twp. Huron County circ. 1850-1855. He worked for Robert Arthur and Sturges in Greenfield Twp. Bought land 1871 in NE corner of Fairfield Twp (112 acres). Log cabin on land stood well into 20th century. Robert Arthur in Greenfield Twp. had a very large acreage (1800 acres) Robert Earl died age 74 years, 7 mos, 11 days. Black mourning card printed. Buried in Steuben Cemetery next to Church of the Master on Route 162, Steuben Ohio Listed in the 1870 US Census, living in Greenfield Twp, Huron County with wife Sarah and four children: Charles 12, Elizabeth 10, E?, John 4; listed farming as profession. Sarah Blake and Robert Earl were married in 1856.

5. Sarah Blake was born in 1837. She died on 21 Mar 1873 at the age of 36 in Steuben, Greenfield Twp, Huron County, OH. Sarah died after birth of son Jay Earl. She was 36 years 8 mos. Lived only a short time after moving to the farm in northeast corner of Fairfield Twp. which they bought December, 1871. Moving there in 1872, they moved into a log cabin which they may have built. Buried Steuben, Greenfield Twp. Huron County, OH, All children born in Greenfield twp. except the youngest Jay. Robert Earl and Sarah Blake had the following children: i. Charles Winfield Earl born 1858 in Greenfield township , Huron County, OH died in 1927 ii. Elizabeth Ann Earl born 1860 in Greenfield Township, Huron County, OH iii. Emma Earl born 1862 in Greenfield Township, Huron County, OH iv. Alice Earl born 1864 in Greenfield Township, Huron County, OH v. John Alfred Earl, born 6 Apr 1866, Greenfield Township, Huron County, OH; died 1 Aug 1911, Holland, Ohio. vi. William Hall Earl born 1871 in Greenfield Township, Huron County, OH vii. Jay Edward Earl born 1873

6. John Parker was born on 7 Jan 1840 in Dunningtn, Lincolnshire, England. He was baptized on 21 Jun 1883 . John Parker becomes US citizen. He died on 5 Apr 1918 at the age of 78 in Fitchville, OH. Buried at age 78 in Olena Cemetery. Died at Fitchville homestead Huron County, OH. He emigrated in 1861 at age 21. He came to Hunt's Corners Farm of brother Joshua. He worked for his brother Joshua for two years for passage and continued to live in Monroeville area. He rented farms until 1884 when he bought Kimberly Farm in Fitchville (151 3/4 acres) for which he paid $9.00. The Kimberly house was built in 1854. He had five sons and two daughters. Obituary: John Parker was born in Lincolnshire, England January 7, 1840 and died April 5, 1918. He was the son of Joshua and Elizabeth Parker. His mother died when in early childhood leaving to his father the burden of caring for him and his nine brothers and sisters. But circumstances were such that it became necessary for the children to shift for themselves at an early age. He drifted from place to place working here and there and living as best he could until he was twenty-one when through t he kindness of his brothers and youngest sister, gained passage to this country. Upon reaching America he went to work for his brother to compensate him for his kindness. While he was employed there he met Miss Ann Clark with whom he was united in marriage May 14, 1863. Through the years that followed they labored faithfully together to secure a homestead for themselves and their children and finally through years of industry and perseverance they made their first payment on their place in Fitchville Township in 1883, where they resided the remainder of their lives. His wife died March 27, 1912. Ann Clark and John Parker were married on 14 May 1863 in Monroeville, Ohio.
