I finally came to the end of a five volume Holy Book of the Sikhs. It officially has about 1430 pages or about 2900 in this translation. I typically read about a page a day over the six years are part of my ritualized morning meditation. Some people open the book at random to get an answer to their questions. To the Sikhs the book is now the Guru.
The Sikh religion is perhaps the most recent major religion and perhaps has the least lost teaching from it's spiritual leaders because they wrote it themselves and it has not been altered. I learned quite a bit of Punjabi reading the book just from the sheer repetition over the years. But so called "Right Understanding" probably takes a lot of repetition to sink in. You could do something similar by reading the Bible in Greek.
The Sant Mat teaching of Ruhani Satsang and Science of Spirituality and Sawan Singh, Kirpal Singh, Darshan Singh and Rajinder Singh is basically rooted in the Sikhism - there is very little difference. The Granth is like a foundation text.
If you were to do a computational linguistics comparison with the other top religious texts for the volume of highest truths I think this book may come out on top. If you take key terms say like "nad" "sound current" anahata shabd, frictionless sound, music of the spheres etc - you would get more hits than other religious text like Bible, Koran etc. There may be a lot of material in Hinduism and Buddhism but it is scattered about and is not centrally collected and far back in history. For instance, Kirpal Singh refers to it more than any other book in Naam or Word for his citations.
The book made numerous miraculous predictions, which just means God was speaking though it.

It is unfortunate that Sikhism is not more well known in the West. Some Americans are so unaware that they do not even know that there is a difference between Muslims and Sikhs.

I conclude with the last few pages of the book:
"worry only if something unexpected happens"
"I have Gained Strength, my chains are broken, solution for everything is here"
Page 1429

"Now if you bless me with name, my mind and body shall turn green"
Page 1430 last page

I have other books I completed also in the same time period with the few pages a day technique including the entire Rumi Masnavi translated by Nicholson, the Syrian new testament, Sufi Symbolism four volumes.
