If Hal takes over

If computers take over it is not certain how they will in the end react to humans. One theory is they might be threatened by humans and try to eliminate them as in Terminator. Another theory is they take better care of the humans than the humans are of themselves. Robots are becoming able to replace most human functions.  

One thing they can't do is meditate and have mystical experiences, so they will figure it is important to keep the humans doing that for research purposes. Plus people meditating at least are doing less environmental damage and are not driving cars all over the place.
