Khwāja Shams-ud-Dīn Muḥammad Ḥāfeẓ-e Shīrāzī (Persian: خواجه شمس‌‌الدین محمد حافظ شیرازی‎‎), known by his pen name Hafez (حافظ Ḥāfeẓ 'the memorizer; the (safe) keeper'; 1315-1390 

It is said in The Gift by Daniel Ladinsky that Hafez reached his "moment of union" at exactly his fortieth year of service to his Master. Page 14

Surely he was blooming prior to that in the field of poetry.
