The grateful knee Is happy to bend And stay realizing What is best is good for the rest My mind is into Simran Realizing that thoughts are not efficient And just leave one high and dry. It is good to have a Friend on the Way! It has taken an interest in the treasures that lie within. A professional meditator lives to meditate and then regulates his outer life to make sure it does not interfere with his next meditation. A professional dies daily and leaves the body 100% of the time and has a profound mystical experience everyday. A amateur meditator has taken up meditation as a life hack or life enhancement tool to raise his physical performance or income In other words he only goes to church or satsang on Sundays and wastes the other 6 days a week He cherishes the few moments of bliss he had back in 1972 with the Master. One time in 1989 he had an out of body experience. He meditates sloppily two maybe one to two hours a day but without regularity but outwardly is very devoted to the Master. The amateur looks for a glance from the Master while the Professional looks for a life-inspiring glance. The Professional meditates six hours a day realizing in humility that he was scatter brained and just settling his noisy western chit ( mind noise) in the first three hours. Or if the first three hours were good then he erased his pride and ego in the next three. The Professional thinks that meditation is easy and people who do not meditate are difficult, while the Amateur thinks that meditation is difficult and finding time to meditate is difficult even though they watch TV three hours a day. Spirituality is mostly just time management. The Professional in addition to long hours of meditation reads scriptures and rereads the Masters books many times realizing that “clear comprehension or Right Understanding” is actually a big aid to meditation and understands the forgetful nature of the mind. The Amateur thinks that he has read all the Masters books and that he already knows everything so he does not have to do it again. He also thinks that being initiated is enough and he can meditate later when he retires but when he retires his knees refuse to bend and cause him pain so he moves and sits in a chair. The Professional retires at 50 and assumes he will only live to 60, he considers an assumption to live longer as arrogance. When he reaches 60 he just pushes out his assumption one more year each year and retains an extreme sense of urgency day by day and may even assume he has only one more day to live at a time. Each day in and of itself is considered a lifetime with his day front loaded with six hours of meditation done first from like 3am to 9am.
