Poem:

To sit in silence is a blessing, life with a lot of bustle and noise is not good for resting. The structure of your day can be changed by simple choices. Sometimes I sit for just a few minutes, at least it reconditions my knees and promotes a habit. Sometimes I sit at 3:30 then fall back asleep and resit at 5:30. As long as It is like being alone in a temple. On Saturdays I can go to satsang in the city because the Mayor changed the parking. Every moment is a miracle to the devotee with a guru sitting in his head. A man in remembrance forgets how to criticize as he is solely focused on his inner eye. Worldly people are surrounded by dust like pig-pen in peanuts. Their raisin d’être is to create a earthly project to find up the emptiness inside them. If they filled up their empty hole first thing in the morning there would be less over-all noise in the world. They suffer from over-action and reaction. If they were to concentrate at the right place that is somewhere deep in their forehead, they would find an alternative solution to urban sprawl and pollution. Constant sitting can be self explanatory. After a while you don’t need a reason. It just becomes your preference. Cars are a sham and should be crushed and left to rust. When I give a five hour sitting I require that everyone must walk there. If you walk for a few hours it is possible your brain might develop a purpose. The answer to many zen koans isn’t in your head but somewhere in your feet or related to something you eat.  I like to have a eat-the-same-day grocery list so I am not storing food in my refrigerator. I also just walk to the supermarket. All my writing is hagiographic and I admit that I am crazy. DS poem July 28, 2018

Yes, very much so. In fact, āshūb (آشوب)—that state of inward agitation, divine restlessness, and love-induced disturbance—is one of the places where Rumi and Sant Darshan Singh Ji come surprisingly c

Ashub

Yes. The English paraphrase on the page (“If you are not handsome then be Jacob”) captures the basic idea, but some of the richness of Rumi’s Persian is hidden. The crucial verse is: تو که یوسف نیستی
