Poem:

To sit still in silent contemplation is a miracle is my other first line. The energy is so high, it is surprising. I have been meditating for eight years. I prefer early morning and my stomach is mostly empty except for a spoon full of honey. I would rather have what the bees gather. The best definition of God is a sound current. You are expected to be a surfer. Instead theologists sit home and look at a lot of books. I am still preparing to teach yoga in Hawaii. First thing in the morning I like to rub my knees. If they are happy usually so is the rest of me. I don’t really like a chair instead I just sit like Buddha. I practice meditation in the morning and then play the piano very slowly. I only speed up after a hundred repetitions and with ingrained finger positions. At the end of August we get more cool air. I sit by the window and drink tea from Japan. On my way to Japan I could stop in Hawaii. The correct place to concentrate is in your forehead. All the other joints are just preliminary. They are also only temporary. Total enlightenment is the goal of yoga not savassana. People should read Hatha Yoga pradipika and see where it leads them. It is kind of cool but the transcendental experience’s only requirement is the Lotus Position. There are certain other conditions. The Gurus talk about them constantly. If you totally execute yourself you do not have to be someone who is only learning or leaning. Total enlightenment is not at all frightening but feels more like magnetic. It is good to be in harmony. The physical body is able to mend itself completely, it just needs you to leave it. Just take your mind away from it and it will be ok. Mindfulness is a misnomer, mindlessness is better. I have to give all the credit to my Guru otherwise I would be a fool. “I” ness is really nonsense any ways and “I” do not exist. So why do I have to always make this concession? Now I write long form poetry and not Haiku. Walt Whitman is my Guru. With these poets it’s usually the same story where their Soul is over active. Real Art only comes from the divine. Other art is simply ugly. The next book I will read is subtitled “My Concept of Poetry”. I should drink at the fountain instead of climb every mountain. Yes, very much so. In fact, āshūb (آشوب)—that state of inward agitation, divine restlessness, and love-induced disturbance—is one of the places where Rumi and Sant Darshan Singh Ji come surprisingly c

Ashub

Yes. The English paraphrase on the page (“If you are not handsome then be Jacob”) captures the basic idea, but some of the richness of Rumi’s Persian is hidden. The crucial verse is: تو که یوسف نیستی
