Poem:

Sitting still is sublime and is a lot better than having an MRI By saying a few simple words you can modify your brain cells. If you sit up straight and stay fit you can sit cross-legged like Buddha The experience could be transcendental. It can also be electrical If you do it five times a day You can force feed God into your stomach. If you like it you can extend it. My poetry is boring because I only write of a single topic. For me cosmic consciousness is a miracle. After it happens I become simple. I used to be an intellectual but now I am just an Athlete. I enjoy being a commoner. Meditation is the end itself not a means to an end. It is not to be used just to increase your performance. Successful meditation is itself the goal at the end not outer achievements. People think that sitting in the monastery is like being in a vacuum. That is just their mind that is thinking. Getting your third eye to work is a big accomplishment. You have to greatly shrink your empire to fit though the narrow passage way in your head. Outer attachments are like dead weight and glue. True detachment comes when you are not even thinking. Man in his basic state is incomplete. He is born needing transformation unless he was born a saint. The flow of his attention going outward has to be reversed and flow in. In the Pythagorean school you listen to music and study mathematics. In meditation you turn on additional features of being human. Instead of just intuition you can have full blown audition. You can find the truth without paying college tuition. Control of the attention is a prerequisite to accomplishment. The people in control of the schools are fools. The first skill to learn is how to sit still and not eat. Given the nonsense that children are learning it might just be better if they just run. DS Poem October 8, 2018

Yes, very much so. In fact, āshūb (آشوب)—that state of inward agitation, divine restlessness, and love-induced disturbance—is one of the places where Rumi and Sant Darshan Singh Ji come surprisingly c

Ashub

Yes. The English paraphrase on the page (“If you are not handsome then be Jacob”) captures the basic idea, but some of the richness of Rumi’s Persian is hidden. The crucial verse is: تو که یوسف نیستی
