Poem:

Every morning you should get up very early and sit very still and leave the body as if you are going to heaven and never returning. You can leave the things on your mind behind. That’s one way to develop detachment. You can go to a concert inside your head and listen to the music of the spheres until you are dead. You can revive the tradition of English poetry of meditation of Donne, Vaughan and Treherne. You could move to Oxford and become a Scholar or just sit in very long meditation. You could transform your brain with words. Or you could read Emily Dickinson and move to Amherst instead. Though in meditation you can actually be everywhere like a quantum physicist. You can travel at the speed of light and study Buddhist scriptures in Dharamshala. You could remove your ego and replace it with a muse instead and then travel to Greece. In Greece even the stones are romantic. Or you could just stay home instead. How do you expect to learn if you are not well read? DS Poem October 28, 2018 A word is dead When it is said, Some say. I say it just Begins to live That day. Poem 1212 Emily Dickinson
