Poem:
Rumors that I have made a mockery of short meditation are simply not true. I love short little meditations. You can do like ten minutes before lunch or dinner. The best ones are the surprise ones at ad hoc times in the afternoon. When they are so short the mind really accepts them and you can work on your quality control. You can try to do the whole ten minutes with perfect concentration without any strays thoughts in it. It’s crazy but you could be leaving the body in ten minutes. They show a sort of extra commitment when you recenter. They also train your legs better. It is as if you were a mime and you are practicing to be Buddha. It could be like temporary stillness. Even children could do it. God thinks you forgot him. You can prove that it is not true and wake him up instead. You can put the saints on push button demand and make a mockery of their reticence. Just because they are lazy and don’t appear easily does not mean you have to be. You can be an extremely narcissistic disciple and demand frequent life-inspiring glances. You could take the Concord and meet Nathaniel Hawthorne. They say half of America’s great literature came from just one town. You could go there and become extremely transcendental you could meet Henry David Thoreau there. DS Poem October 30, 2018 Poem 1225 Its Hour with itself The Spirit never shows.
