Poem:

In the early morning you can create a beautiful form and structure: yourself in silent contemplation. Your body can become your temple then expanding to include the whole world. You can become fixated upon your inner eye and manufacture exuberance. Your knees and legs can become fully conditioned. You can develop a relationship with the Absolute. You can pray to the Master for a significant spiritual experience right in the present and setup a meeting. You can put all your worldly cares and concerns in the broom closet. You can see what happens to you if your meditations become extremely long and come first and are your primary ruling passion. You can for at least a few hours be uninterrupted. You can go from the present moment to a timeless intellectual. At age 61.8 you can assume it is just time to contemplate. Your Life can just become a subset of Enlightenment. Instead of trying to find the right dream you could have a beam of light in your head. Instead of pursuing mindfulness meditation with intellectual rigor for ego-elimination which is egotistical, you can pursue a total enlightened Guru and reach total annihilation resulting in more vigor. You can get a boast from the man in which God has chosen to be host as in a Godman. Instead of paying for a course it is better to set your own. The appropriate person to read this poem is he who wants to. DS Poem December 28, 2018 #godman #santkirpalsingh #goldenmean

Ashub

Yes. The English paraphrase on the page (“If you are not handsome then be Jacob”) captures the basic idea, but some of the richness of Rumi’s Persian is hidden. The crucial verse is: تو که یوسف نیستی
