The return of the senses
Today I smelled for the first time in many years the scent of incense. It really colored my experience and was relaxing. I had been with someone who was allergic to everything and could not have any scents about. If you brought her flowers she even took those away. I see nothing wrong with exorcizing your environment if it can support you in longer meditation sittings. Meditation is better than rest that is why I do it before I get tired. On your tenth anniversary you can develop superpowers. Your can meditate on a sofa as long as it is very firm. When you have detachment you do not have to think about the hereafter, you are already in it. Instead of getting up too late, you can just always be awake. To become advanced only just to fall down would be a shame. You could have more of a legacy than a mystical podcast. You could find a big family to love instead of have none. Annihilation in Master and God could be your basic program. You could just stare at a blank white wall instead of a TV. Instead of wasting time you could just sit cross-legged and do Simran. In the actual world you will not find anything much more useful than Spanish. You could always make Medellin your Capital and then you will not get cold. Waiting until tomorrow to have a mystical experience is sort of like being a bone-head. After a while I tried the smell of vanilla, then I tried cinnamon apple all of which went very well. I am not afraid of enjoying a smell. After walking through the park I went to try a piano on 58th street which is the current home of Beethoven Pianos. I went to the all music building as if I were in Rome. You can go to a bookstore as long as it is Shakespeare. The Met has an excellent bookstore in which you can charge your phone. The problem
Is it is almost impossible to live alone. You can hardly park unless you have a Fiat. You could be always going into Samadhi instead of always looking around for a place to park. You can study emptiness more effectively in Times Square during a Pandemic. You can spend $20 dollars at Dollar Tree instead of $60 and then send you extra money to Columbia. If you turn your face to God then you do not have to be waterlogged. It turns out that magnetic north is just inside yourself you do not need an electric car. You can still go out after dark and still park as long as you got a fiat. In winter months you start thinking of alternatives. During your quiet time you can just sit in the dark. You don’t have to visit with old folks. You can easily recharge you brain as long as you don’t have cable. The best time to do contemplation is everywhere.
