Poem:

The changeable world is bewildering and unsatisfying. Whatever plans you make do not workout. Meditation serves as an anchor at least it is unchanging. Realizing this you can stop thinking. People act like they are preprogrammed with a mission A real noble purpose is to undertake to deactivate the mind’s commission If you pursue this operation you can still later in the day spring into action At this point I should live at a retreat as the chief abbot and priest I could teach by example by sitting at attention. Sitting still is Enlightenment’s expression. You don’t sit still to reach Enlightenment. Instead you reach Enlightenment which results in you then sitting still. The beginning of the desire to reach Enlightenment technically is Enlightenment because time does not exist and the beginning is the same as the end. Before I have sat for six hours, I would be considered a fool and a charlatan. Spiritual power is not cumulative and needs frequent regeneration. Even if this wasn’t true a Master would seek to hide it anyway. Sitting in silence is the only beauty. DS Poem July 1, 2018
