Poem:

It’s no easy feat being comfortable in the Lotus Position. It takes a lot of repetition. Just to sit there content is what is meant and concentrate in your head. You need a personal development style. It could be your morning ritual. Many think they must think but that would be a mistake. You are first plugging in. For the advanced you have post-satori practice. There is the issue of going higher. You could just have a longer practice. I like to say “if some is good than more is better” It is like inner transformation all the way to annihilation. Back when I started it could take two hours for the thoughts to stop. Luckily with practice the time period to launch can be shortened. The instant-on third eye is what is needed. Better do it when you can. Even a powerful Zen Master like Hakuin eventually weakens and is dead. The instant-on third eye could go commercial but that is really antithetical. I don’t plan to write a poem a day I just restructure my head.

Yes. The English paraphrase on the page (“If you are not handsome then be Jacob”) captures the basic idea, but some of the richness of Rumi’s Persian is hidden. The crucial verse is: تو که یوسف نیستی
