Poem:
There is very little difference between the advanced meditator and the beginner. The main difference is what is subtracted. The advanced meditators has fewer attachments. The advanced meditator sort of meditates like ordinary people eat. Though he eats light and bliss. He also gets periodically hungry. He considers non-meditators to be starving and feels sorry for them. The same way you feel sorry for the blind. Meditation is very nutritious as well as delicious. Attachments preoccupy you and you can see how they block you. When you have fewer you can more easily direct your spirit current to the center. Fewer attachments and preoccupations is noticeably better. It is like you need to reach critical mass where you are more enlightened than not. For this you probably need longer practice as well as greater commitment. Greater understanding is helpful. When you get old you just meditate and read and write scripture. It is weird that people don’t realize that soon they will be dead and ignore it instead. Actually I’m just a beginner in the advanced. If I reached any wisdom it is due to prayer, grace and research. You’ll find it more in yoga than logic. After 42 years of dead sitting I am just beginning. To systemize the mystical is unusual most people just stumble upon it. Kirpal Singh is a major contributor to the truth with Darshan Singh adding a lot of nuance. You might think the level of concentration can only be achieved by a monk or the retired. But working young people with children should keep trying. They could attend satsang. The amount of time they watch TV is equal to the amount of free time they have available. Or their screen-time for those who think they are advanced. One of the advantages of the iphone is you can write poetry about the benefits of being alone and sitting still like a practitioner of dead tree stump Zen. Most people actually have a lot of time in fact maybe just all the time. In fact everyone is actually doing nothing. They could easily go out at night and just stare at the Moon. To do it you do not have to be a practitioner of Shinto. You could look for a big star, though it is interesting that it could turn out to be a planet. If you want to do stream of consciousness writing it might help to connect to something conscious. You could become a stream-enterer in Buddhism. For this Buddha has recommended basic virtues. I suggest you follow them. Buddha has had 1.5 billion followers that makes him an influencer.
