Poem:

I now just offer - “sitting with”- group meditation retreats. You can think of me as the group leader or teacher. But the main conclusion of my teachings would just be the sitting. So the class is just long sitting. I would just be the concentration anchor. I would be like the furniture. My supposed wisdom is just my degree of stillness. So I am just an example. Most of the teachings are in a book. You can ask a question at the end. The purpose of asking a question is to empty your head. It is kind of like dead sitting Zen but not like being in the military. You can step outside and stretch your knees and have a cup of tea. Our tea and chocolate is the best. Our demeanor is inspired. The class comes after you have already passed detox, fasting and yoga. The only thing needed is the right attitude and atmosphere. When I look at you I don’t even see your body. I have been blinded by the universal. To every person is exactly the same. I may have been meditating too long and went insane. I can no longer perceive time and may have become a primitive. The cure for my condition is even more meditation. I prefer students who are either eighteen or 61.8 and free of distractions. I have been meditating for 42 years but still am a simpleton. That’s why I am slow and half dead and an oaf. Today is gazing at the Moon day in Japan. DS Poem September 15, 2018 Gazing at the Moon day in Japan #shinto #zen #moongazing #meditationretreat #tsukimi #shimogamo #whiterabbit

Yes, very much so. In fact, āshūb (آشوب)—that state of inward agitation, divine restlessness, and love-induced disturbance—is one of the places where Rumi and Sant Darshan Singh Ji come surprisingly c

Ashub

Yes. The English paraphrase on the page (“If you are not handsome then be Jacob”) captures the basic idea, but some of the richness of Rumi’s Persian is hidden. The crucial verse is: تو که یوسف نیستی
