I rejected God’s proposal Poem: I rejected God’s proposal that I reach enlightenment tomorrow and suggested today instead. I sat in deep contemplation and took my Soul up to heaven. It had been a long preparation. Not surprising it was early Spring. Not having things in my gut may have been helpful. I am just going to sit inside God’s tourist agency and have tea and wait for my guide. It may be inside the Third Eye. You can make 5am until 8 completely sacred. It is hard to be simple if you are an intellectual but you can do it if there is enough bliss. You can do 2100 asanas and then just go up into your head. Success on the path requires some sort of inner math; definitely a lot of time. You can refrain from being complicated and just pay attention. Your accomplishment could be insane if you just count in astral money. You do not have to fight fires on the great plains. You could just do Simran in a sitting routine. You do not have to be like Achilles or the Emperor. You do not have to win the Noble or the Pulitzer. There is a solemnity of the feet when you realize that again you are sitting in meditation. You can make your next adventure as just erasing desire. The purpose of physical hatha yoga is just to insure that your knees and hips don’t hurt when sitting in super long time period meditation. You can also add vitamin B and one date. I think of the size of food as the right portion and part of monotheism. You can eat one nut, one date, one slice of the orange if you want to be a minimalist and practice monotheism. It could also be one grape. If you maintain chastity, simplicity, not eating and right intention you can have repeating enlightenment. In our society fasting is probably our medicine until at least you have had a great meditation. Afterwards, you can have a celebration. For some people it might take two hours just to get settled. So they would have to meditate for at least three hours. It is ironic that just as you are reaching finally peace at the end of yoga class in shavasana the class then is over. Two hour yoga classes are much better than one - like in Germany. The unenlightened state of consciousness people should consider unhealthy and they should be working to heal it. A Poem of David Smith April 6 & 7, 2019 #2100asanas #yoga #bobdylan #achilles #literature #nobelprize Gotta Serve Somebody Dylan youtube At the end of his Nobel lecture, Dylan describes the moment in the Odyssey when Odysseus visits Achilles in the underworld. Achilles tells him that trading a long life of peace for a short one of honor and glory was a mistake. He is dead for eternity; “if he could, he would choose to go back and be a lowly slave to a tenant farmer on Earth rather than be what he is—a king in the land of the dead,” Dylan says. “That’s what songs are, too. Our songs are alive in the land of the living.” Dylan never needed to make that trade. He has had more lives than a cat, and all of them add up to one long life of enough honor and glory to sustain a small nation. One day, he, too, will go down under the ground. But his songs will stay forever alive, up here.
